The aim of the collection is to supplement and expand the museum’s holdings and its field of study. The archive consists principally of the following:
The collection includes drawings by such artists as G.F. Hetsch, Constantin Hansen, Johan Rohde, Joakim Skovgaard, Thorvald Bindesbøll, Finn Juhl, Poul Kjærholm, Bernadotte & Bjørn, Jacob Jensen, Jan Trägårdh, Bjørn Nørgaard and Vibeke Klint. The collection also encompasses personal notes, scrapbooks and other source material.

Danish industrial graphics is another large field, and is here represented with works by such figures as Thorvald Bindesbøll, Knud V. Engelhardt, Kay Fisker, Gunnar Biilmann-Petersen, Claus Achton Friis, Erik Ellegaard Frederiksen. The archive also contains a collection of printed book jackets, book paper and hand-made paper.
