The objective of the teaching offered by the educational service at The Danish Museum of Art & Design is to provide children and young people with the preconditions to enable them to experience, understand and appraise design and the applied arts by sharpening their awareness of form, function, construction, technique, texture, colour and materials.

The central subjects covered by the museum’s educational service are: design, figurative art, Danish and history.

The educational service offers a variety of dialogue-based courses which can be combined with a workshop course. The teaching takes as its point of departure the museum’s collections, special exhibitions and the Design Studio. The Design Studio is an open storage area for children and young people where they are encouraged to touch the exhibits.
